Why Nimbus Aero Services?

Maximize value by capitalizing on my expertise ranging from financial planning related to aircraft ownership, management strategies to maximize your plane’s reliability, and flight training to keep you safe.
  • Want to make sure your new aircraft doesn’t come with an unexpected tax bill, preventable AOG due to life limited parts, or performance not up to spec due to poor prebuy evaluation? Let my experience work for you.
  • Need a contract pilot to fly your aircraft or a dry lease aircraft? I can refer you to an owner that is currently dry leasing an SF-50, which I am available to fly as a contract pilot.
  • Want to deep dive into aerodynamics or mechanical systems and how they affect flight characteristics to improve your knowledge and skill? I am a professional mechanical engineer and will never give you the “just push the I believe button” cop out. We will discuss topics until you, the learner, are satisfied with the information. We will then see those topics in action.
  • Feeling uncomfortable in low IMC conditions? Lets plan a cross country to seek out clouds to maximize training value. I have extensive experience flying in hard IMC and will not shy away from incorporating it into training.
  • Feeling uncomfortable in icing (in a FIKI aircraft)? Lets seek out ice with a suitable escape plan like you would on a cross country flight where icing is possible. I have significant experience flying in Alaska and northern climates where ice is a fact of life.
  • Want to go into a major class Bravo international airport with an experienced instructor prior to going solo? I can help you experience a variety of large airline hubs and teach the necessary skills and how they differ from smaller GA friendly airports.

Testimonials

Steve is a fantastic instructor, extremely knowledgeable on systems, ops limits, and emergency procedures. He was always very thorough in the brief and every aspect of the event was flown as briefed. He is a natural teacher as he is able to break the material down to an understandable level for students and then build upon foundations he helped set. Always calm, cool, and collected in the aircraft, Steve made for a relaxed and exciting learning environment. Additionally, detailed and practical feedback made for helpful debriefs.

I flew my cross country with Steve and learned a ton. He has an exceptional ability to aid the student in understanding their mistakes through effective communication in the airplane. I think his ability to give useful critique while still in the airplane, allowing the student to apply it throughout the rest of the flight, is unique.

Steve approaches genius/savant level knowledge with aviation. He has a very unique way of explaining concepts that go beyond the publications and tap mostly from his next-level understanding of flying. In addition, he pays close attention to detail and nothing gets by him. Awesome instructor and role model for me as an aviator.

I came prepare to all flights with Steve and he was able to take what I knew and run with it. Always willing to coach and very helpful in the plane and on the ground. We could be flying through a tornado that’s on fire and he would be calm and helpful and walk me through everything. A 10 out of 10 experience to fly with and very informative.

I tend to let one mistake snowball into more mistakes. Steve taught me how to move past small mistakes to ensure aircraft control and situational awareness, then finish the flight safely.

Steve is the calmest instructor I have ever flown with. He puts students at ease and offers effective, clear, and concise instruction. Additionally, he flew the most perfect landing pattern I have ever seen.
